PRESCHOOL PAPARAZZI

Have you even gotten down on the ground to take a picture? It's something I see professional photographers do ALL of the time.  They're constantly striving to get a better picture at a new angle and interesting angles. Who else gets really good views at new angles?  Our creative little ones, of course!  They experience the day like no other so we asked them to help us document what life is like here at IJP.  We had SO MUCH FUN capturing our day to day, can you see how much fun we are haivng?!

Annabelle got a close up of our Rosh hashana sensory bin.  Look at those oats, apples and the worker trucks!

Ari E found an artsy angle at one of our flower beds.  Maybe she was looking for lady bugs too!

We Love Our Playground!

No addition was unnoticed on our newly renovated playground this week.  The students took the afternoon Morahs around showing all of the exciting new features added to their already amazing outdoor learning area.  Some were fans of the flowers while others loved the bigger outdoor kitchen.  We had a great time exploring what felt like a brand new space and took full advantage of new learning experiences. 

"Look! We are a family making dinner together!"

"We can wash our hands and water the flowers at the same time!"

"Let's take turns picking up the rocks.  If you move one, you have to put it back then it's the next person's turn." After all of the rocks were taken from the pile, the students counted them then made their favorite shape! 

"We collected all of the rocks, now we're going to hide them in our wood building." 

Israel Here We Come! Kitah Alef

 Kitah Alef went on a trip to Israel. We had to take a ship to Haifa and that was great fun! Ezra was the captain, Caleb steered the ship, and Sammy was the look out.

 After arriving at the port of Haifa, we made our way quickly down to Eilat. We just couldn't resist the beautiful sparkling waters and boats.

 We had to make some sun visors for everyone, because the sun was so hot!

 Everyone wanted to stay in Eilat for a long time and so we did. Next time we will visit a few more cities in the Holy Land.

 We finished the day with a wonderful picnic for Maddy's Birthday. Happy Birthday Maddy!!!

Where is the bunny?

 We spent the first week back preparing for a very special addition to Kitah Alef. We talked about rabbits, made paintings inspired by bunnies, read books about bunnies and other furry animals.

 We asked the children what we might need for our new bunny. Caleb: "We need seeds!" Morah: "Where will it live?" Sammy: "On top of the slide." Tehila: "Gam Ani Roza!" (I also want (a bunny))

 What will the bunny eat? Ezra: "Seeds, Strawberries." Sammy: "Blueberries!" What should we name it? Caleb: "Hops." We have yet to decide on a name for bunny, but hopefully that will happen next week.

 Then, finally, bunny came to class! The children were so excited. Kitah Bet came to see what all the fuss was about. Evan's Dad took the bunny carefully out of its cage. The children got to pet it. Morah: "We have to be very gentle with our bunny, we don't want to hurt it."

 Everyone wanted to hold bunny. It was a little scary at first. Annabelle: "Whats bunny doing?"
Ezra: "He is eating my shoe!"

 We will have a sign-up sheet for families who want to take the bunny home for the weekend. Also, we would like to welcome Maddy to our class. She joined Kitah Alef this week and we are thrilled to have a new friend in class. Shabbat Shalom!
