At center time Yael and Talia were coloring with markers ,I overheard Yael telling Talia " look at my picture".

 I turned around to look at her picture too, oh the creative and cool things these children do... she was her licking the picture -creating a new design with her tongue- and Talia not missing a beat, trying out her friends  cool new idea too. (And yes our markers are non-toxic for this very explorative reason)

I told the girls that the saliva on their tongue is smearing the markers on the paper making new designs and that we accomplish the same goal with water and a paint brush.

That led me to put 4 jars and 4 paint brushes in the art center so the kids can paint on top of their markers drawings.  Now we will add watercolor pencils.  Have you ever tried those?
