As the year draws to a close, Kitah Bet has been busily preparing for the last day of school as well as the coming year. We know that three-year-old children will not be coming back to the Kitah Bet classroom, so we went to visit Kitah Gimmel to see what it's like. Morah Susan and her class welcomed us inside and offered to answer any questions we might have had. While looking around we noticed that some things were the same, such as similar types of toys and areas of the room, while some were different. The Kitah Gimmel children pour their own water and take art materials off the shelves by themselves.
We made one of the last pages of our portfolios by pressing our hands and feet into designated boxes so we can measure how much bigger they'll have gotten by next year!
Annabelle: "I have a red foot!"
Since we are very familiar with and proud of our Aleph-Bet letters, we're choosing to display them on our last day of school crowns. We colored our letters using crayons and colored pencils, good fine motor and pencil grip reinforcement.
To prepare the class for the last day of school performance, Morah Rena started out by describing the event at Circle Time, using wooden people as the children and audience and blocks for the stage. Repetition has really reinforced the children's knowledge (and excitement!) of the songs and procedure of this upcoming day.
Bringing the performance practice even closer to the real thing, we practiced singing our songs on the outdoor stage. We can't wait to perform for you!
