During our trip to Israel we explored what life would be like for an IDF soldier. Transitioning from a care free lifestyle to that of a disciplined soldier can be difficult, but our students were up for the challenge. We talked about how sometimes we are tired and our bodies don't want to go on... but when we are working to keep our country, our family, and our friends safe, we can find the energy to do anything!! Just watch and see how hard everyone worked!!
They were even able to respond to different commands. Sometimes we went forward, sideways, and even backwards!! "Do we have to go over the tunnel or under it?" They asked with excitement. Everyone moved with a sense of pride and urgency. After all, we wanted to make our family and our country proud. And they did.
Stephanie, This was an amazing activity--and this blog posting is a really excellent presentation--it captures the children's involvement. Nice! Susan
