These are some of the discussions and sweet comments;
Morah-Does anyone know what this is?
Ziva- "A chart."
Casssidy-"A calender."
Perly-"Like a checking thing; at home we have on upstairs."
Amitai-"A chart you put stickers on it."
Mina-" You can't use it all the time, it needs to go on the refrigerator."
Morah-"what's a calender?"
Adaya-"A calender has numbers and tells you when it's your birthday."
Kemp-"You put big letters on it."
Libi- "My grandmother has it and a spot to stay."
Morah- (pointing to shaded boxes on the calender)"Why are they shaded in? They represent a special day"...
"Why are trees special and what do they do for us?'
Libi-"Shaded green for the trees birthday, they have a birthday because they are special."
Amitai-"They give us fruit."
Bryna-"They give us trees."
Cassidy-"They give us wood, and with it we build stuff."
Perly-"They give us bananas."
Adaya-"Lemons."
Kemp-"Apples grow on trees."
Amitai-" Because they give us shade."
Mina-"Because um they give us fruits and vegetables."
Libi-"Trees give us food-fruit."
Morah-"Trees can also be a home for animals."
Amitai-"Well some of them gives us leaves and then the leaves go into a big pile."
Morah-"What can we give the fig tree that we are taking care of in kitah gimmel for birthday of the trees?"
Libi-"We can give him a present."
Perly-"We can give it cupcakes."
Adaya-"And put it in the dirt for them."
Amitai-" Maybe we can give him a man on a dragon on a motorcycle."
Ziva-"We cant give it cupcakes because they don't really eat."
Bryna-"Maybe we can give it little branches."
Cassidy-"And tiny leaves."
Kemp-"Pretend hot dogs."
Mina-"A present, like maybe different colors of wood as a present and put it in the mud."
After all these talks; for snack we created our own trees with pretzels sticks (being wheat) and grapes, which are both foods from the seven fruits of Israel. All the yeladim took extra care to form their tree with their own creativity.
