Story of Pesach Placemat
We created a sort of map style timeline of the story of Pesach.
This was inspired by a project from a few years ago by the Kitah Daled Hey class.
Each child made at least one drawing on the timeline.
Most children also wrote a title for their picture.
They drew their picture carefully, first with pencil then added color and detail with pen and marker.
The resulting images came together in a colorful spiral design that the children can follow along with when they revisit the story of Pesach.
Matzah Cover
The children colored rectangles of white, silk fabric with permanent markers.
Next, the children used droppers and q-tips with alcohol to make the colors spread.
The result was a watercolor-effect.
After the fabric was dry, the children added the word "Matzah" in Hebrew.
They painted the word onto the fabric using a stencil and puff paint.
Mah Nishtana
The children drew examples of Chametz, Matzah, and vegetables.
They also drew bitter herbs, Charoset, and the Seder table.
For the cover art the children used special tissue paper that bleeds.
First they made a design and then added water to make the dye bleed from the paper.
The resulting book blends the watercolor art of the Matzah cover and the drawings of the Passover story place mat.
Happy Pesach!
